Description

(2E)-2-Benzylidenehydrazinecarboximidamide hydrobromide is an aminoguanidine derivative that inhibits the production of nitric oxide, a key mediator in inflammatory responses. It also has anti-inflammatory effects and is used to treat autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. This drug is synthesized from 2-amino-5-nitrobenzaldehyde and (2E)-2-aminobenzylidenehydrazinecarboximidamide by reaction with hydrobromic acid. The molecule is a white crystalline solid that decomposes at high temperatures.
