2-(4-Bromophenyl)-1H-benzimidazole is a benzene with a bromine substituent. It is a ligand in coordination chemistry. The acetylacetonate anion coordinates to the metal ion, which can be replaced by other anions such as oxalate, carbonate, or nitrate. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)-1H-benzimidazole has been found to have photophysical and vibrational properties that are sensitive to the orientation of the molecule.
