Description

5-Bromo-1-benzofuran-2-carboxylic acid is a cross-linking agent that can be used to treat autoimmune diseases. It prevents the formation of antibodies by binding to the protein disulfide isomerase, which regulates the assembly and cross-linking of antibody molecules. This drug has been found to inhibit the production of dopamine D3, which may be due to its inhibition of protein synthesis. 5-Bromo-1-benzofuran-2-carboxylic acid also inhibits phosphorylation and receptor activity at the Pim 1 and D3 receptors, reducing inflammation in liver cells.
