N-(4-Bromophenyl)-N-methylacetamide can be used as a catalyst for reactions involving amines and amidation reactions with carboxylic acids. The chemical reaction between N-(4-bromophenyl)-N-methylacetamide and hydrogen peroxide yields hydrogen gas, bromine, and water. This chemical can also be used as a reagent for the oxidation of primary alcohols to yield carboxylic acids. This chemical has been shown to have oxidative properties.
