Product Information
- 5-Bromo-Pyrazine-2,3-Diamine
5-Bromopyrazine-2,3-diamine is a methylating agent that can react with the amino group of a compound. It is used to introduce the methyl group into a molecule. 5-Bromopyrazine-2,3-diamine can be synthesized by reacting diazomethane with xanthate and potassium ethyl xanthate. This reaction produces methylamine gas, which can then react with an organic amine such as dimethyl or diethoxymethyl anhydride. Alternatively, an alkali metal such as potassium can be used to react with ethyl xanthate in methanolic solution to produce 5-bromopyrazine-2,3-diamine.
