Description:
3-Bromo-2-methoxybenzaldehyde is a cytotoxic compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer cells. It is biogenetically related to tridentata, which is a plant from Brazil. 3-Bromo-2-methoxybenzaldehyde has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by causing changes in the cell cycle. The convergent synthesis of 3-bromo-2-methoxybenzaldehyde was achieved through lithiation and subsequent reaction with an acetone derivative.
