Description:

3-(3-Bromophenyl)propanoic acid is a metabotropic glutamate receptor antagonist. It has been shown to antagonize the effects of glutamate on the synthesis of proteins that are necessary for cell division and to inhibit the production of nitric oxide, which is known to be involved in neurodegenerative diseases. 3-(3-Bromophenyl)propanoic acid also has analogs with a bioisosteric group, which may make it more potent than other glutamate receptor antagonists.
