2-Bromo-6-methoxybenzoic acid (2BMB) is a boronate ester that is used in coupling reactions to form biaryl compounds. It has been used in the synthesis of 2,3,5,6-tetrahydrobenzopyranones and 2,5-dihydropyranones. Suzuki coupling of 2BMB with aryl halides or triflates yields biaryl compounds.
