Description:
6-Bromo-8-chloroquinoline is a quinoline derivative that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It is an analog of 6-bromo-8-chloroquine (BOCQ). 6-Bromo-8-chloroquine is a metabotropic glutamate receptor agonist with high metabolic stability and low toxicity. It has been shown to be a potent allosteric modulator of the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 2, which may contribute to its therapeutic effects. 6-Bromo-8-chloroquine has also been shown to have antipsychotic effects in animal models, although it has not yet been studied in clinical trials.
