4-(tert-Butyl)cyclohex-1-ene is a bromohydrin that can be used as an intermediate in the production of dibromides. The second-order rate constant for this reaction is 8.4 × 10M−1s−1, at 25°C and pH 7. The UV absorption spectrum is characterized by a maximum at 265 nm. 4-(tert-Butyl)cyclohex-1-ene is the only stereoisomer of cyclohexane that has ferrocene groups attached to the ring. The two possible isomers are cis and trans.
