Tert-Butyl 1H-pyrrole-1-carboxylate is a synthetic compound that is used in the synthesis of other organic compounds. Tert-Butyl 1H-pyrrole-1-carboxylate can be prepared by cross coupling of an ethyl bromoacetate and a tert-butoxycarbonyl pyrrole. This reaction is stereoselective, yielding only the S enantiomer of the product. The carbonyl group on the tert butyl group can react with electrophiles to form new functional groups. Tert-Butyl 1H-pyrrole-1-carboxylate has been shown to have an uptake inhibitory effect on human intestinal tumor cells.
