Description:

Tert-butyl cyclopropylcarbamate (BCPC) is an amide that is used as a building block for the synthesis of cell culture reagents, such as piperidine and amines. BCPC has been shown to activate chloride in nucleosides and nucleotides, which are biomolecules. It has also been shown to be chiral and to react with Grignard reagents to form carbocyclic nucleosides. However, it is not active with hexane or chloroformate.
