Description

6-Bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K). It has been used in drug development and has shown to be a reversible inhibitor of PI3K. 6-Bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine binds to the ATP site on the enzyme and prevents phosphorylation by blocking access to this site. The binding of 6-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine is reversible due to its ability to dissociate when ATP is removed. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro.
