Product Information

Name:
2-(Benzo[d]thiazol-2-yloxy)acetic acid
Synonyms:
  • Acetic acid, 2-(2-benzothiazolyloxy)-
  • 2-(1,3-Benzothiazol-2-Yloxy)Acetic Acid
Description:

2-(Benzo[d]thiazol-2-yloxy)acetic acid is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have invertase activity. It can be used as an inducer of plant growth, and has been shown to promote the formation of roots and abscisic acid production in plants. 2-(Benzo[d]thiazol-2-yloxy)acetic acid is synthesized from chalcone (a natural product) using a one-step process with high yield. This compound binds to substrate binding sites on enzymes, and has been shown to inhibit hydrogen bond formation between protein molecules, leading to inhibition of enzyme activity. This substance may also have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit chitinase activity.
