Description:
5-Bromo-1,2,4-thiadiazole is soluble in ethanol and ether but insoluble in water. It has a solubility of 1g/100mL when mixed with an equal volume of carbon tetrachloride, acetone, diethyl ether, or diethyl tetrachloride. 5-Bromo-1,2,4-thiadiazole is not soluble in benzene. 5-Bromo-1,2,4-thiadiazole has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase.
