Product Information

Name:
2-Bromonicotinamide
Synonyms:
  • 2-Bromopyridine-3-Carboxamide
Description:

2-Bromonicotinamide is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist that has been shown to have biological properties. It can be used as a drug for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and inflammatory diseases, such as chronic schizophrenia and autoimmune disease. 2-Bromonicotinamide can be used as a competitive antagonist of chemokine receptors, which are proteins that mediate inflammation. It also inhibits the formation of amyloid protein aggregates found in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and prion diseases. 2-Bromonicotinamide has been shown to modulate the activity of acetylcholine esterase, an enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine in the central nervous system. This inhibition leads to an increase in acetylcholine levels at synapses with postsynaptic neurons.
