It has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the electrochemical reduction of nitroarenes in water with a high turnover frequency. The use of 2-Bromo-N,N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine as an organocatalyst can also be applied to biomolecular and electrochemical methods. This compound has been shown to have nucleophilic properties and is used in kinetic studies.
2-Bromo-N,N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine has been used as an iridium complex in solvents such as acetonitrile and chloroform.
