1-(4-Bromo-2-methoxyphenyl)ethanone is an organic compound with the chemical formula CHBrO. It is a regiospecific Grignard reagent that can be used to synthesize 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzoic acid by reacting with lithium aluminium hydride. 1-(4-Bromo-2-methoxyphenyl)ethanone also reacts with methoxy groups to form ethers and esters, which can be used in synthesizing psychoactive compounds such as MDMA. This reagent is nucleophilic and can react with aluminium, forming a Grignard reagent.
