Description:

7-Bromoquinolin-4-ol is a cytotoxic alkaloid that belongs to the class of marine alkaloids. It was isolated from the marine sponge, Dendrilla membranosa. This compound has been shown to be cytotoxic in a mouse lymphoma cell line and may be useful for the treatment of lymphomas. 7-Bromoquinolin-4-ol has been synthesized and studied for its cytotoxicity against various mouse lymphoma cell lines. Spectroscopic studies revealed that this compound is brominated at the quinoline ring and it is also difficult to synthesize.
