Product Information
tert-Butyl 4-(4-bromo-2-cyanophenyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate is an aniline derivative that has been shown to have a good inhibitory effect on the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). This compound was originally synthesized for use in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It has also been investigated as a potential treatment for alopecia, due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme involved in hair loss. The molecule is known as a spirocyclic imidazoline with both electrophilic and nucleophilic properties. It is an optical isomer, which means it can exist in two different forms - one with a + and one with a - sign on the carbon atom adjacent to the nitrogen atom. The two forms are called tautomers, and they exist in equilibrium with each other.
