Description:
Tert-butyl piperazin-1-ylcarbamate is a potent compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of mycobacteria in vitro. It has been shown to have antitubercular activity in vivo and in vitro. Tert-butyl piperazin-1-ylcarbamate selectively binds to the ribosomal RNA of mycobacteria, leading to the inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death. This drug has also been shown to be active against several clinical isolates of mycobacteria, including those resistant to current drugs. Tert-butyl piperazin-1-ylcarbamate has been identified as a lead compound for the development of new antitubercular drugs.
