4-Benzyl-1,3-dihydroquinoxalin-2-one is a mesenteric vasodilator. It is used in animals to study the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in the mesenteric ganglia. The mechanism of action of 4-benzyl-1,3-dihydroquinoxalin-2-one is not known, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis or prevent cell division.
