Product Information
- Quinolino, 7-(phenylmethoxy)-
7-Benzyloxyquinoline is a naphthoquinone that is used as a research tool. It inhibits cytochrome P450, which is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of many drugs and other xenobiotics. The inhibitory effect of 7-benzyloxyquinoline on cytochrome P450 has been shown to be homotropic and cooperative. This compound also has been shown to have effects on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) process, transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and lacrimal gland function. 7-Benzyloxyquinoline has been shown to induce epidermal growth factor receptor expression in vivo and increase the expression of monoclonal antibodies against epidermal growth factor in vitro. This drug may also be used as a research tool for studying human cytochrome P450 enzymes by using monoclonal antibodies.
