Description

2-(4-Bromophenyl)quinoline is an optical, oxidant, synthetic pathway, switchable amine. It has been used as a fluorescent probe for the detection of amines. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)quinoline has also been used to synthesize biomolecules and transfer them to surfaces. The fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) method that was developed by this compound is very efficient in transferring biomolecules to surfaces. Synthesis of 2-(4-bromophenyl)quinoline can be achieved through a variety of methods such as the synthesis of 4-bromobenzaldehyde and quinolinoyl chloride with ammonium hydroxide and N,N-dimethylformamide.
