Product Information
4-Bromo-N-hydroxybenzamidine is a synthetic, radiolabeled compound that is used in vivo to study the uptake of β-amyloid in the brain. It binds to β-amyloids and prevents them from aggregating. 4-Bromo-N-hydroxybenzamidine has been shown to be effective against resistant microorganisms, such as fungi and bacteria. 4-Bromo-N-hydroxybenzamidine also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which are due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis by binding at the level of the ribosome. The modification of 4-bromo N hydroxybenzamide with a boron atom on the nitrogen atom provides a pharmacophore that can be used for drug design.
