Product Information
- Thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine, 6-bromo-4-chloro-
6-Bromo-4-chlorothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine is a synthetic compound that inhibits the tyrosine kinase receptor. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vivo by inhibiting epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor. This drug also inhibits the growth of cells that are resistant to epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors. 6-Bromo-4-chlorothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine has been shown to have antitumor activity in both animal models and humans with cancer. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of the tyrosine kinase receptor and a subsequent decrease in cellular proliferation. 6-Bromo-4-chlorothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine is not active against noncancerous cells because it does not bind well to these cells' receptors. The binding affinity for this agent's target is very high, which makes
