7-Bromothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine is an anti-cancer drug that belongs to the class of piperazine derivatives. It inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases, which are enzymes that control cell growth and division. 7-Bromothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine has been shown to inhibit the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase in chronic myeloid leukemia cells and may be useful for treating other types of cancer as well. This drug binds reversibly to the ATP site on the enzyme, preventing ATP from binding to it. 7-Bromothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine is a synthetic compound and is not found in nature.
