Description:

2,5-Bis(bromomethyl)-4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)anisole is a liquid phase diode. It has been used as a spectroscopic probe for the study of potassium hydroxide and vinylene, and has also been shown to be a transfer agent in the synthesis of polymers. The efficiency of copolymerization with monomers such as naphthalene or tetrahydrofuran can be increased by adding 2,5-bis(bromomethyl)-4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)anisole to the reaction mixture. The addition of this catalyst will produce polymers with a higher degree of polymerization.
