Description:
5-Bromo-2-iodoaniline is an arylacetylene that has been shown to be a good coupling partner for the synthesis of indoles. It also has been used in the synthesis of benzyl carbamate, which can then be converted to 2-iodobenzoic acid. Bromination of 5-bromo-2-iodoaniline gives 5-bromo-2-(bromomethyl)benzene, which can react with isocyanates to form bromo compounds. The regioselective bromination of 5-bromo-2-iodoaniline leads to the formation of only one isomer in high yield.
