Description:
4-Benzyl-1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione is an organic compound that is synthesized by the aldol condensation of benzaldehyde and propionaldehyde. The reaction produces a mixture of 4-benzyl-1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione and 3,4-dibenzylideneacetone. The former has been shown to be an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds. It can also be used as a chiral source in asymmetric synthesis.
