Description:
2-Bromo-4,5-dichloroimidazole is an organometallic compound that belongs to the group of haloalkyls. It has been shown to react with chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride in the presence of dimethylformamide to form a dilute solution of chloroformate. Chlorine gas is mixed with nitroethane in order to express 2-bromo-4,5-dichloroimidazole. This process can be used for the manufacture of dichloroisocyanuric acid.
