Product Information
- (1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane)-dichloroiron(I)
- Dichloroiron-Ethane-1,2-Diylbis(Diphenylphosphane)(1:1)
This compound is an iron(II) complex with the formula FeCl2(PPh2CH2CH2PPh2) or Fe(dppe). It can be obtained by reacting phosphine with dichloroiron dichloride, which is generated in situ from iron and phosphorus pentachloride. The single-crystal x-ray diffraction pattern of this compound exhibits a single molecule in the asymmetric unit. Elemental analyses confirmed that the resulting product was indeed the desired isomer. The reaction was found to proceed reversibly.
