1-Benzyl-4-methyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridine is a chiral compound that is an industrial solvent and can be used in the synthesis of other chemical compounds. It is also used in the production of tofacitinib, a drug that is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. 1-Benzyl-4-methyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridine has been shown to have oxidizing properties and can be synthesized through the reaction of an imine with a ketone. This chemical compound also has asymmetric properties.
