Description:
8-Bromo-6-chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is a chemical compound that is used as a reactant in the synthesis of other compounds. It can be synthesized by reacting chloroacetaldehyde with succinimide in an alkaline solution. This reaction produces 8-bromo-6-chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine and hydrochloric acid. 8-Bromo-6-chloro-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is then neutralized with sodium hydroxide to produce a white solid. The filtration process removes any insoluble impurities from the product.
