Product Information

Name:
Bis(p-aminophenoxy)dimethylsilane
Synonyms:
  • Bis(4-Aminophenoxy)Dimethylsilane
  • 4,4'-[(Dimethylsilylene)bis(oxy)]bis(benzeneamine)
  • 4,4'-[(Dimethylsilanediyl)Bis(Oxy)]Dianiline
Description:

Bis(p-aminophenoxy)dimethylsilane is a polymeric compound that can be used in the synthesis of polymers with specific optical, magnetic resonance and thermal properties. The polymer film was obtained by polymerization of bis(p-aminophenoxy)dimethylsilane with trifluoroacetic acid. The optimal reaction conditions for this polymerization are a temperature of 140 °C and an addition time of 2 hours. The crystalline structure is determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups present in the molecule are aminophenoxy and dimethyl silane. Bis(p-aminophenoxy)dimethylsilane has been shown to have protease activity and to be activated by chloride ions. It also shows increased fluidity at higher temperatures due to its high thermal expansion coefficient (1.6 × 10−5 K−1).
