(2S,4S)-1-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-4-methoxypyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid is a serine protease inhibitor that prevents the action of serine proteases. Serine proteases are enzymes that cleave peptide bonds in proteins, and they play an important role in coagulation, inflammation and other processes. This inhibitor binds to the active site of these proteases and prevents them from acting. It has been shown to be effective as a thrombosis inhibitor and for the treatment of abnormal bleeding. (2S,4S)-1-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-4-methoxypyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid inhibits proline hydroxylation by serine proteases, thereby inhibiting the production of collagen by fibroblasts.
