1-Butyl-1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole is a heat transfer fluid with a boiling point of 257°C. It has a high viscosity and low conductivity. It is used as an inhibitor in polycarboxylic acid systems to prevent corrosion and coloration. 1-Butyl-1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole is also used as a corrosion inhibitor for metal surfaces that are exposed to deionized water or high melting fluids. This compound has a molecular weight of 184.18 g/mol and is soluble in both water and nonpolar solvents.
