4-(Benzyloxy)aniline is a phenoxy compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It binds to the neurokinin-1 receptor (NK1R) and blocks the binding of substance P, thereby inhibiting the release of inflammatory substances from mast cells. 4-(Benzyloxy)aniline also inhibits epidermal growth factor (EGF), which is involved in the proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes. The physiological effects of 4-(benzyloxy)aniline are related to its ability to inhibit EGF and its hydrolyzing activity. The analytical method for this compound is LC-MS/MS with electrospray ionization.
