Description:

N-(4-Bromo-3-methylphenyl)acetamide is a reagent that is used in the synthesis of β-cyclodextrin. This compound is prepared by reacting 3,4-dihydroxypyridine with acetanilide to form an anisole intermediate. The bromination of this intermediate using NBS leads to the formation of the desired product. N-(4-Bromo-3-methylphenyl)acetamide can be used as a catalyst for various organic reactions, such as oxidation, reduction, or substitution reactions. It has been shown to be more efficient than other reagents and catalysts in these types of reactions.
