Description

3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,2-diaminobenzene is a hyphenated analytical technique that is used to measure the sensitivity of wastewater samples. It can be used to analyze the concentrations of chloride, nitrate and hydrochloric acid in wastewater samples. The extraction procedure involves adding tetrafluoroborate (BF4) to extract chloride ions and nitrate ions from the sample. Hydrochloric acid is then added to precipitate chloride ions and chloroform is added to precipitate nitrate ions. The speciation of triethyloxonium ion, selenite ion, and other anions are measured by GC-MS analysis. Aliquots of the extracts are analyzed using this technique for measurement of anions in wastewater samples.
