Product Information
- (R)-3-(Tert-Butoxy)-2-((tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino)propanoic acid
- N-Boc-O-tert-butyl-D-serine
Boc-D-Ser(tBu)-OH is a pentapeptide that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of human prostate cancer cell growth. This compound is an azide analogue of the naturally occurring hormone buserelin and has been used as a reagent in coupling reactions. It has also been used to treat endometriosis, although its effects are not fully understood. Boc-D-Ser(tBu)-OH is an acidic compound with a pKa of 3.5, which means it can form stable salts with bases such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. The tert-butyl group is present on the side chain and does not interfere with the amine function.
