Bis-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)carbodiimide is an organic chemical compound that is used as a carbonyl stabilizer in composting and as a ligand in metal coordination. It has been shown to be a good crystal x-ray diffraction stabilizer and can be used to synthesize polylactic acid. The hydrolysis product of bis-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)carbodiimide is carbamic acid, which is also a good acid scavenger. This chemical may also have antibacterial properties due to its ability to stabilize fatty acids against oxidation.
