Crystals of 2-bromo-5-(phenylmethoxy)pyridine have been shown to exist in two forms, a monomer and a dimer, which are related by crystallographic symmetry. The coordination of the metal ion is found to be octahedral. Hydrogen bonding is also present within the crystal structure of 2-bromo-5-(phenylmethoxy)pyridine, as well as through hydrogen bonds formed between different molecules within the crystal lattice.
2-Bromo-5-(phenylmethoxy)pyridine has been used in polymerization reactions with polymers such as polyethylene oxide and polyvinyl alcohol.
