Product Information
Tert-butyl(2-chloropyridin-3-yl)carbamate is a tertiary amine that can be used as an intermediate in organic chemistry. It is the product of the intramolecular reaction between tert-butanol and 2-chloropyridine. The two products of this reaction are tert-butyl alcohol and tert-butyl (2-chloropyridin-3-yl)carbamate. This reaction can be used to produce polyfunctional molecules from simple starting materials. Tert-butyl (2-chloropyridin-3-yl)carbamate can also be hydrolyzed to form aniline and tertiary butanol, which are both useful compounds in organic chemistry.
