Product Information
4-Bromo-2-nitropyridine is a chemical that has been shown to be a photoactive sensitizer for solar cells. It has also been shown to be an antibacterial agent, which may be due to its ability to inhibit bacterial DNA replication and cellular protein synthesis. 4-Bromo-2-nitropyridine has also been shown to bind to the enzyme cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which is involved in the conversion of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) into cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This binding inhibits cAMP production, leading to a decrease in the activity of this enzyme.
