Bis (dodecylsulfanyl)-methylarsane is an antimicrobial agent that is used in the diagnosis of mesenteric cancer. This compound was administered to patients with suspected cancer of the small intestine and colon, and the diagnostic value was determined by a reduction in the number of bacteria in the colon. Bis (dodecylsulfanyl)-methylarsane has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit blood vessel formation. It also has anti-neoplastic properties and can be used as an adjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer. Bis (dodecylsulfanyl)-methylarsane has been shown to have antibacterial activity against human pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans.
