Product Information
Biotinylated isoxazole is a small molecule that has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in mammalian cells. It binds to the ribosomal protein S6 kinase (RSK) and inhibits the phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein-1 (4E-BP1), which blocks the production of proteins vital for cell division. Biotinylated isoxazole also induces apoptosis by inhibiting DNA replication, translation, and amino acid composition. This drug has potential as a therapeutic agent in degenerative diseases where protein synthesis is inhibited.
