Description:
16-(tert-Butoxy)-16-oxohexadecanoic acid is a chemical compound that contains benzene, propionate, and tert-butyl groups. It is an epoxy dioctyl sulfate in which the ester group is attached to the 16th carbon atom of the hydrocarbon chain. It has been used as a plate coating for zinc sulfate or magnesium and as a sintering aid for molybdenum. 16-(tert-Butoxy)-16-oxohexadecanoic acid has also been found to have tensile properties comparable to those of polyethylene with a density of 1.2 g/cm3.
