Bis(p-acetylaminophenyl) ether is a diacylated ether that is soluble in organic solvents. It can be prepared by the reaction of equimolar quantities of the corresponding acid chloride and amine. Bis(p-acetylaminophenyl) ether has been used as a monomer for the synthesis of polymers, such as polyimides, which are heat-resistant and have good thermal stability. Bis(p-acetylaminophenyl) ether is also used in analyses such as gravimetric, calorimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry.
