Product Information
11-(4-Bromobutyl)tricosane is a trioxide that exhibits unipolar magnetic properties. It can be prepared from selenophene and pyridine in the presence of an oxidizing agent, such as potassium permanganate. The compound has been shown to have interaction with a variety of solvents, including water, acetone, and dichloromethane. 11-(4-Bromobutyl)tricosane has been shown to exhibit transition metal magnetic properties and is able to form low spin complexes with molybdenum. This compound also crystallizes in the hexagonal phase and exhibits liquid crystal properties. The morphology of this compound can be seen by examining its crystal structure under polarized light microscopy.
